Accessibility

Everyone in District 16 should be able to use this site. We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

What we’ve done

• Text and background colours are checked for contrast. The bright green accent is used for text only on dark navy backgrounds, where it meets AAA; on white it is used for ornament only, and a darker green carries any text.
• Every page works with the keyboard alone, and the focused element is always visibly outlined.
• Animation is decorative. If your device is set to reduce motion, the smooth-scrolling and scroll-triggered animation are switched off entirely and the page is shown in its final state.
• All content is present and readable if JavaScript does not run.
• Images that carry meaning have text alternatives.
• Touch targets are at least 44×44 pixels.
